6 Months Old

Our little bug is growing! We took Sadie to the doctor for her 6 month check up, she is 26 inches long and 14.5 pounds. She is now in a lower percentile range, and the doctor thinks it is because she is so active. More active than most babies her age, according to the doc. He also warned us that she is getting very smart and we should not give into her whining and crying unless it is a cry of pain. He told us that she is smart enough to try to control us with her crying! bahaha I hope that we win and keep the control in this house. I don't want my 6 month old to be wearing the pants in this house!

Peek-a-boo

Sadie has learned a new game! The past week she has been doing this and I just thought it was a fluke, but she really is playing peek-a-boo!!!!

Christmas Surprise!

So this year we decided that Jake, Sadie and I would stay home for Christmas and celebrate together. We thought that it would be fun since it was Sadie's first Christmas. A couple of weeks before Christmas Jake and I were talking about our work schedules and Christmas. We realized that we were going to have 4 days off together due to Christmas eve being on Thursday and Christmas Day on Friday, followed by Jake's normal days off, Saturday and Sunday.

Since we had 4 days off we thought that it would be fun to head home to Kennewick and spend the holiday with my family. However, I had already told my family that we weren't going to be able to make it due to work and other scheduling conflicts, so... we decided to head up and surprise them.

Wednesday night I had a few appointments and was working late, and we wanted to make it to Kennewick early on Christmas eve (which was Thursday) so we decided to drive half way Wednesday night when I got off of work, and get a hotel room in Boise. We drove from Salt Lake to Boise quickly no problems. We got to the hotel late and planned to sleep in.

Sadie had other plans for us she thought that we should get up at 5 AM! I guess that she was more anxious to see Grandma and Grandpa Jones that we thought! So we got on the road early and got to my parents house to surprise them. To our surprise both of my parents were gone. My mom was at work and my Dad was in Oregon with my uncle... oops maybe we should have told them we were coming.

So we decided that we should go surprise my mom at work. We showed up and walked back to her desk... her expression was priceless, she was so shocked and then she started to cry. She had NO idea that we were coming.

After my mom got off work she called my aunt (who also had no idea that we were coming) and told her she wanted to come over and show her her Christmas Surprise. So we headed over to my aunts house (that is next door to my parents) we walked in the door and as soon as she saw us she started SCREAMING and jumping up and down and crying. I didn't think that we would make anyone cry by surprising them.

However we didn't make my dad cry when we showed up. He looked at us and said, "I didn't know you were coming!" Ha ha well "SURPRISE!"

It was so much fun surprising everyone and seeing their reactions. We had such an awesome Christmas and we were so happy to be able to spend time with our family.

The Wedding

Jake and I had to opportunity of watching Joel and Candice date, from the first date (4 years ago), through the mission... and up to the wedding! We are so happy that they got married. I just couldn't see Joel with anyone else. They truly complete each other and fit together so well. We are so happy for the two of you!
The luncheon was at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, I had never been upstairs to the rooms there. It was so pretty and the food was great!
Brothers and their Dad
Aunt Jan flew up for the wedding and to meet Sadie. So glad we got to hang out with you!
I just love Sadie's face in this picture. I don't know what she is so disgusted with but it must be something good.
CONGRATS Candice and Joel your wedding was beautiful!
