She loves to dance

Walking!

Yep Sadie is WALKING! For the past month Sadie has been "cruising" around everything and even standing, but she was so cautious to start walking. The past few days she has been taking a few steps at a time and she is now officially walking! Hope you enjoy =0)

Its the little things that count.

One thing that I have leaned in this past year with Sadie is, you can't sweat the small things. You can't get upset when they do something you don't want them to do. Throughout her life I am sure she will do a million things that I don't want her to, but that is how kids learn. How will she learn if I am always there to catch her when she falls (figuratively speaking) sometimes you have to let kids fall so they can pick them self up, dust themselves off and say "I'm not going to do that again!"

My first reaction to Sadie and her little adventure here was "OH NO, what did YOU do!" Then I reminded myself again that she is just a baby. She is curious and learning. She is just trying to bake like her mom does.

*Laughter is the BEST medicine*

New Favorite Activity

Sadie LOVES this rocking chair. She just learned how to crawl into it and sit, and stand. We are trying to teach her that you have to sit in chair and not stand, but I think this little girl might take a few more falls, bumps, and bruises before she learns that lesson.

In to everything.

When I say that Sadie gets in to everything I mean EVERYTHING. She loves to open up every cupboard and drawer and pull out everything inside. As of this past week she loves to empty the cupboard and crawl inside. Here she is in my hair products (yes I have a whole cupboard designated for all of my hair product and tools, it comes with the job) =0) Sadie sure thinks she is cute when she makes messes!

On a side note... look at how long her bangs are!!! I cut them only a few weeks ago! Looks like they need some trimming again.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Jones!

Independent woman!

Latley Sadie insists that she feed herself EVERYTHING. Last night I gave up on fighting her and decided to let her give it a try. She has not eaten her vegis for a long time, I thought that if I let her feed herself the vegis she might actually eat them.

The result... Well she ate some but as you can see, most of the vegis ended up everywhere else Ü

She painted her face in camo for the evening!

10 Months

Some may find it boring that I keep posting month to month progress on what Sadie is doing that is new and different from the previous month. I am fascinated by how much she changes in such a short time frame. Yes she is my first and chances are the the second child won't get as good of updated progress reports, but one can hope!

The past couple of weeks have been tough on us. Once again Sadie came down with a virus, this time it was Roseola Infantum (a.k.a.Sixth Disease) you can read more about it here. When you click on the link it will take you to a slideshow the roseola slide is the 13 of 14 slides. Today she seems to be doing much better and back to her sassy self!

Here are the things that Sadie is doing now that she is 10 months old:

* Waves
* Says "HI" and "HEY"
* Stands alone with out holding onto anything for a few seconds at a time
* Walks around furniture, walks while you hold her hand.
* Likes to copy sounds and faces that we make
* Loves being chased
* Understands what "No" means and usually obeys
* Loves to dance

Tulip Festival 2010

This year we went to the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival, they have 250,000 tulips planted, and over 100 different varieties spread throughout a 55 acre area. This place is HUGE, and the tulips were gorgeous. I learned that every year they dig up all of the tulips at the end of the festival, sale them, and start over the next year with new designs. Due to a hail storm a few days before we went there were some damaged tulips, but for the most part everything held up really well. We walked the entire garden area and got a good work out while we were there along with a TON of pictures!

We discovered that Sadie HATES grass and didn't want to get dirty! It took her a while before she would even consider touching the flowers =0) We did get her to touch the flowers and some dirt but she was very cautious.
