Nesting is for Birds

Nesting... why do some people say that towards the end on pregnancy you go through a "nesting phase". What exactly is nesting? It seems like through out this whole pregnancy there would be days were I was so tired I didn't think that I could function, and the next day I would have a huge burst of energy and clean the whole house. I thought for sure that the last project I took on would be my last before Sadie, but it looks like she is testing my patients already and isn't quite ready to join our family. How many times do I have to go through a "nesting phase" before she gets here?!? We want to spend time with her and get to know her already.

My latest BURST of energy, about a month ago, I tackled a HUGE painting project. Jake and I decided to paint every wall downstairs. We painted 2 accent walls and darkened all of the remaining walls. I only have pictures of one of the accent walls and will have to add the other pictures when I take them. I LOVE how everything turned out, I feel like my house is now a home.

Next on my agenda (hopefully after Sadie is born) New pillows and Window coverings! I am so ready for this change in accessories at home!

Sadie's room

Many of you have been begging for months for pictures of Sadie's room, I have to admit I have really been dragging my feet on getting her room ready. Why, I do not know, I guess that I have just been lazy. We now have it at least put together, but still have some more decorating and things to get done.

The mattress is still down low, because my friends little girl I watch would fall out if we lifted it up so for now, until Sadie sleeps in her own room it will be this way.

We voted against painting her room for now, the ceilings are way to tall, and I just don't want another task to add to my list =0) Maybe sometime after she is born we might attack the painting job.

Utah Baby Shower!

A couple of weeks ago my friend Heather, and my mom threw me a baby shower here in Utah. We had a great time! For some unknown reason the air conditioning was not working. We all were hot and sweaty and smelled great I am sure =0) it was fabulous to see everyone and hang out. Thank you so much for everyone that came and supported us we love you all tons!
Here is the picture of my mom's side of the family, Grandma, Aunts, Cousins, and Cousins kids and my Mom and Sisters! Somehow we didn't get any pictures of everyone else...ooppps, but Jake's mom came, family from my dad's side, and my awesome co-workers!
Opening Gifts!

Hanging out eating great food and great fun!
A huge thank you to everyone that came!

Stay tune.... We have been working on getting Sadie's room and things put together and I will post some pictures soon of our work!

Flowers

This year I planted flowers for the first time! I remember as a kid helping my mom plant her flowers, but it is a lot harder to do when you don't know what you are doing, or what types of plants/flowers to buy. I had no idea what the difference between annuals and perennials was before I started this project, but I learned quickly!

I can't believe how fast the pots have filled in, I planted them a month ago and thought that they would take forever to fill in, now I am wondering if they have enough room to grow... I guess only time will tell. I love coming home to these beautiful flowers!

Baby Shower in Washington!

My Aunt and Mom threw me a baby shower while we were up in Washington, it was so fun to see all of my friends and family. We had a great time! We just want everyone to know that we appreciate their love and support, and wish that we lived closer so we could see everyone more.

Yummy food!

I also got to hang out with a lot of my friends from high school while I was there. This is the first trip since Jake and I got married that I have actually gone out with most of them. We had a great time and hope that we can make it a regular thing to get together when I am in town!

Washington Trip

Jake and I had the opportunity to get out of town for a while, so we decided to go up to Washington and visit my family! We had a great time and we were able to spend a whole week with them and we even took Grandma up there with us! My parents decided that while we were there we should head up to Seattle and have some fun.

Me, Grandma and Mom on the ferry headed to the San Juan Islands.
While we were in Seattle we road the ferry over to the San Juan Islands. We got to shop around and ate dinner while we were there. They had the BEST fish and chips I had ever eaten.... yummmm!
San Juan Island, Friday Harbor right before we hit land.
Britt, Jess, Mom and Dad on the ferry.
Grandma and I on the ferry
While we were on San Juan we saw some gorgeous flowers and had to take some pictures. The tulips there were HUGE and very colorful! I hope that someday I will be able to find my green thumb and grow some pretty flowers like they had there.

When you go to Seattle, I think that it is a requirement to go the the Space Needle if you haven't been there before, since it was Jake and Grandma's first time in Seattle we went to the Space Needle and rode up to the top to enjoy the scenery, and fabulous weather. We were very lucky that the weather was so nice while we were there. It only rained for a minute the first day we were there and the rest of the trip there was no rain, it was warm and sunny!

Our final stop was at Pikes Place. We walked through the market and ate yummy seafood again (it wasn't as good at the previous day, however it was fresh!)

Group shot of all of us before we got in the car and headed home. Yes Jason is missing from the picture =0( he had baseball while we where there so he missed the trip. Hopefully he will be able to make the next family trip.
