Carving Pumpkins!

Pumpkin Carving!!!

So I haven't carved a pumpkin since I was a kid.... last night Josh and Natalie invited us over to have dinner and carve pumpkins! We had a great time and took lots of pictures!

From left to right me, Josh, Jake and Natalie... it was supper late and we were all exhausted.

We tried to get a good picture with us in it, when it was dark, but it didn't really turn out, but the pumpkins look nice!

Moving in

Thursday the 11 Jake's Dad flew in to help us pack and move. Jake had to work all day Thursday so I was hanging out with Bruce and keeping us busy with all of the packing. Half way through the day we decided to go and take a look at the house so Bruce could see where we were going to be living! As we drove up the the house I noticed a landscaping truck parked in our drive way. I thought, maybe someone is doing work on the back yard, it might be the HOA's truck.... there were so many possibilities, anyway, I thought nothing of it and we on our way back to the condo to finish packing. Friday morning came, our house funded and recorded (meaning that the property was now officially ours) and we (well Jake and his Dad....I was working) loaded up the truck to go take a load of boxes over to the house. I meet them at the house and the plan was to park the truck in the garage and unload it after we had had lunch (we were meeting up with Jake's bro and his family). Well we pull up to the house and surprise surprise... the landscaping truck is STILL parked in our drive way, the truck was completely blocking our driveway there was no way to get around it! We didn't have time to unload the truck we were running late so we start knocking on the neighbors doors around us to see if it is anyones truck or to see if they know who owns it.... and no one is answering their doors. To make a long story short... after lunch, we ended up having to call a tow truck to come and get the truck, and of course as soon as the tow truck shows up and has the truck hooked up and ready to go some kid from next door (around 18) comes running out and stops the tow truck driver. The tow truck guy tells the kid that it will cost him $80 to drop the truck and it he doesn't have the money he will tow it and it will cost him the 80 plus milage. In the middle of the two of them talking I come out side to see what is going on because I can here people talking outside our house. The kid approaches me and asks me why we didn't just ask him to move the truck he said, "I have been home all day" HAHAHA That is what we tried to do and someone must have been to lazy to answer their door! We talked for a minute and he seemed to cool down. I hope that he doesn't hold a grudge forever.  So this was the first neighbor that we meet here and hopefully he can get over our first encounter, we didn't want to move in and make enemies, and we didn't have the tow truck come to be mean we just needed to be able to access our house! I hope that we don't have to meet anymore of our neighbors on similar terms.

However, since everyone has been asking for pictures I decided that I better post a few... as you can see in the pictures I sill have a lot of decorating and unpacking to do. Maybe once I find the motivation to get my house in order and looking nice, I will post some more pics!

This is the downstairs... it still needs a lot more work but we will get there with time.

Breaking Dawn

So I finally finished reading this wonderful book... I was surprised with some of the twists that Stephanie Meyer put into the book. I did enjoy the series, but what did everyone else think of this book?

Tagged!

I Have Been Tagged by Kristie.

I am - a wife, a friend, a hard worker, a daughter, a sister a child of God, and a shy reserved person until I get to know you.

I have - the best husband, awesome family, a good friends, great clients, and a fabulous job.

I get frustrated when - people lie, semi's drive in the fast lane and drive like 20 MPH under the speed limit... HONESTLY!  People gossip and talk bad about someone and then have the nerve to act like they are friends with them the next time they see them.

I think - my life is great. Integrity and honesty will get you much further in life than lies and deceit.

I value - my life, my family and true friends.

I wish - I could see into the future to see everything that God has in store for us in this life.

I fear - Death, loosing a friend or family member unexpectedly.

I dislike - Liars and cheaters. Bills and taxes. Allergies.

I love - Jake and my family. Vacations, hiking, babies (they are so cute and innocent).
I tag..... Jennifer M , Andrea S and Heather W

Condo

So we are getting ready to move out of our condo... our first home together (well... besides the studio apartment we lived in when we first got married, but we only lived there for a few months before we moved so that doesn't count right?!? Anyways). I am so excited to move and get into something bigger and newer, but I am also sad to leave our little home. When we first moved in the place was in need of some TLC, and now that we are leaving I am remembering all of the hard work we put into this place. Here are some before and after pictures.

We got new appliances, new countertops and sink, new lighting, and refinished the cabinets.

Joel

So for those of you who know, about 4 months after Jake and I got married Jake's lil Bro Joel moved in with us, and he lived with us for about a year and a half until he left on his mission (He is serving in the Paraguay Asuncion North Mission).   Since he just recently hit his 1 year mark I have been thinking about him a lot lately, the other day I was going through all of his pictures of his party we had right before he left and thought that some of you might enjoy them as well. Only 11 more months and he will be home!!! Keep up the hard work Joel!

I FOUND IT!

November 2004

June 2008

So earlier this summer I posted this picture below that we had taken with the 6 of us (we are all sisters/cousins) and the funny thing is, I was looking at the picture and I realized that we had taken a picture just like it just a few years earlier. Look at how much we have all changed in just a few years. I had been looking for this picture everywhere and my Mommy found it for me! She had it all along and that is why I couldn't find it!
